Copyright Laws - PLEASE HELP!

The script for my latest movie requires a clip from the disney movie "Alice in Wonderland". I have looked ALL OVER the internet for a place to submit a request for their permission via e-mail, but have found nothing. If there's anyone out there who can help me, PLEASE DO! Thanks so much!

Unless you have a lot of money and a lot of time, or are going to be distributed by Buena Vista, I would rewrite your script to exclude any explicit references to copyrighted material that you are not licensed to use.

The text is in the public domain IIRC, perhaps you could use that instead?

The movie is used as a metaphor to the life of the main character of the movie. It's a crucial bit, and I'm afraid I can't avoid using it. Is it okay if I only use less than a minute from the movie? Or, seeing as I won't be selling it, and probably not winnng any money from it, is it stil ok?

I think Miker might be on to something. If the text is public domain, what if you shot your own version of Alice in Wonderland using the text as your script, and then used those clips in your main story? Its extra work, but it will save money and legal headaches. If you can track down a blonde actress and the baby blue babydoll dress, the audience should pick up on the reference.

If you want the 'toon look to contrast the live images, you may be able to collaborate with someone who is comfortable with a 3D package that can pull off a cartoon look. Off the top of my head, something like Animation:Master has a fairly good cartoon renderer.
